Re: Need help rewirng and installing valves in Jax Fl

Post by IBDRINKEN on Mon Feb 13, 2012 5:38 pm

I think I have a stuck valve but I'm not sure. I'm running the cheap ass airbagit.com manifold setup, the guy who built the truck install it such shot. I have my SMC valves on order. So here is the problem. The drivers side dump works but when I try to raise it it doesn't even click or do anything but when it does work it will hop up and then right back down to the ground. Any help is much appreciated. I will pay someone to come up here and fix this shit as I'm at wits end.

Hrmm.. sounds like the dump is stuck open. But cant really say why the fill doesnt work all the time.

How much pressure are you running ?

No problem . Try lifting the truck when there is like 150psi in the tank.

Hrmm. Well what I am thinking is some valves "lock up" if the pressure is to high ,though the valves may be rated at 200psi it doesn't mean they can actually take it.

An it is nothing something you really have to dig into to see if that is the problem or not. The dump valve I am unsure of , maybe its clogged or a hole in the line/bag or something causing it to drop right after you air it up.

In that case it should be EXTREMELY easy to rewire once you get your SMC valves plumbed and ready to be hooked up . You will need 4 runs of 18awg speaker wire. Use one wire for a Fill and the other for a dump. Ground the valves to themselves.

I figured out that I had a blown airline in 2 different spots so I fixed that and know I have a short somewhere, it never fails.

I think both and that prob why my switchbox only works sometimes. The wires on the battery started smoking and now the nothing in the interior works, no radio, ac, heat gauges. I checked all the fuses and they are fine so I not sure.

I know there is a fusible link right around the battery that is known for going out on our trucks.

Not to sound stupid but I don't see any fusable link by the battery unless I'm looking for the wrong thing

It is one of them , I think it is a dealer only/junkyard part.

Well I did take off the alternator to have it checked out because I thought it was bad and forgot to put one of the nuts back on the alt so that may have done it. That's the only thing I can think of.

ayye, i just had to replace my fusible link too. its the one thats directly on the terminal... maybe this will help

where the plugs actually plug in, that things is the fusible link. that guy at the junkyard gave me a used for free. he told me to just take it. it was melted and would short out and shut my truck of twice from shorting out all the accessories and shit. my amps were cutting in and out all the fucking time, replaced it and i havent had a problem since. try finding another one
