Re: 87 Toyota pickup
Just ordered the complete emissions block off kit. I'm trying to get the parts needed to get it running and just put them to the side. But the headers and block off kit were a must

Re: 87 Toyota pickup
So one o the other things that needs to be addressed here soon is gonna be my brake booster, and master cylinders and stuff like that. As far as i see it the easiest way for me to do this is to do a floor mounted clutch, brake, and gas pedal assembly. that way i can keep the fire wall nice and clean and everything will be inside the cab, hidden and tucked away on the inside of the firewall. My other options are, doing just a brake booster delete which will still putrude through the firewall into the engine bay, than id have to rig up a clutch master cylinder under the dash. Or i can do a firewall mounted swing pedal setup for the brake an clutch but than i run the risk of nothing fitting correctly since the tub is so gotdamn big. So in my mind, being mounted on the floor will make my life alot easier. Im thinkin of doing the "Mix Match" one withouth the roller pedal.... http://www.dansperformanceparts.com/buggy/tcbh/buggytcbh2.htm

Re: 87 Toyota pickup
In case no one saw on instagram, I got the engine pulled out today, now we can actually get in there and shave everything that needs to be shaved and clean the whole engine bay up real nice. There's only about 3-4 "big" holes that need to be filled and a couple other small bolt holes that can get covered too. I'm also planning on pulling the cab as well pretty soon...

Re: 87 Toyota pickup
Ed thinks i should candy paint the firewall lol but shouldnt i worry about the wheels wells first? only the cab is tubbed, if i paint the firewall now... it will just be ruined once the fender wells go in. Should i grab two steel trailor fenders from tractor supply and request a day off work?..... Ed chim in on thissssssss

Re: 87 Toyota pickup
Oh and another thing, i pulled the front control arms, and everything. Got in the engine bay with a wire brush and started getting all the gunk and shit outta there. I got the driver and passenger cab tubs completely sealed with seam sealer too. I noticed today, pulling all the suspension stuff out, that the bag is rubbing a bit where we notched the frame in the front. So i took the flap disk to it a lil bit tonight, imma do a lil more tommorow. and see if the bag still rubs. I might snatch the core support off too... i might wait... Do work.

Damn bro, you are killing it! I personally wouldn't candy paint an engine bay that will see dirt, rocks, mud etc. I would def. try to get some wheel wells in there!
